Ontimeshow 2016SS had the Ontimeshow staff working around the clock for the three days that the show was on. Seeing each booth pack up and head out, our staff members can finally have a well-earned rest. Although I too am exhausted, I am sad to see this season end.

Ontimeshow is a trade show focused on orders. In the past few days, we have heard a lot of positive feedback. In addition to expressions of gratitude, we were most pleased to see orders being made at the show. First of all, this shows our designers have had a successful season, and secondly, that we did our job in connecting the two groups of people, and contributed to the final products reaching the right people.

ONTIMESHOW 2016S/S BUYER'S POINT OF VIEW

"I have attended Who's Next in Paris, and I felt that the atmosphere of Ontimeshow was no different from that of exhibitions in Europe. Perhaps the biggest difference for us is buyers that come and the larger market here. I met many new Mainland Chinese industry professionals who gave me a lot of surprises. For example, a guest from Northeast China made orders for our whole collection upon first viewing yesterday. It was also a surprise for us to be so loved.” - Yen Yeung, designer of NoBeing, an accessory brand from Hong Kong.

"It's the third time we've been at Ontimeshow, and it is improving every time. Ontimeshow is no less impressive than the European or New York exhibitions I have visited, and I have met very good buyers here. For example, Opening Ceremony was interested in our eyewear collection, and Lane Crawford showed interest in our home collection. It has been eight years since we started the eyewear brand, and this time we launched Satie's HairEYES home collection at Ontimeshow.” Zhou Yuan, manager of Satie's HairEYES.

"This is my first time attending this kind of show, and to tell you the truth, I had my reservations. But everything went more smoothly than I could ever have expected. Ontimeshow's organisers prepared everything I could possibly want and need. As a new designer brand, this is our first season making clothes, so we are still exploring the market, meaning we were only familiar with some of the channels introduced to me by my friends. I'm glad to have been connected to so many buyers and retailers at Ontimeshow. Besides getting orders, we learned a lot of basic rules of retail from our face-to-face communications with buyers.” Georgette Q, designer of her eponymous independent designer brand.

“The thousands of attendees coming each day shows the rapid development of domestic exhibitions, which is undoubtedly a great thing for the Chinese fashion industry. A number of outstanding designers have emerged from China recently, and there have been various multi-brand stores stocking designer brands. Now trade shows have begun to develop, and we believe there will be further progress higher up the supply chain with fabric suppliers and manufacturers.” Charles, the head of Dongliang, China’s first designer brand boutique.

What makes us happy is that Ontimeshow can hold its own so many other high-level exhibitions. Praise can be good, can act as support, as encouragement, but also as pressure. As we go around the exhibition interviewing buyers, media, showrooms, and designers who come to the exhibition and we hear positive feedback, we say to ourselves that we must make next season even better.

So even in the limited time we have, we really want to communicate face to face with all the attendees as much as possible to hear their opinions.

"We hope that the next Ontimeshow can be a little earlier. It is already in the second half of Shanghai Fashion Week, which is followed by Seoul Fashion Week, so maybe some of the more important buyers have left Shanghai." - Makin Jan Ma, designer of her eponymous Hong Kong brand.

"We feel that Ontimeshow has been improved in every aspect. Next season, I hope to see more professional buyers from other parts of Asia and even Europe, the United States and other markets." - Designer of Huajia Studio, a designer brand in New York.

We have carefully recorded your feedback regarding the exhibition time, the style of the venue, the promotion of the brands and our platform, and inviting more international buyers; we hope to see you at an even more improved Ontimeshow next season.
