ByONTIMESHOW

This season’s Shanghai Fashion Week is yet to open, but our WeChat Moments are filled with announcements for events. As more new platforms and exhibitions emerge, Ontimeshow will also grow and upgrade this season. Ontimeshow 2018AW will take place at Shanghai West Bund Art Center from April 9 to 11. Join us to watch the creativity blossom this spring.

The new season of Ontimeshow will bring fashion design ideas closer to art. In addition to bringing nearly 200 brands, we will also have a greater focus on our first still presentation and photo exhibition. Among them, Helen Lee and Ran Fan will have still presentations at 4:30p.m. each day. Mufu, Cui Yimeng and Cui Cui will also occupy the entire second floor of the venue. We hope that these rich offerings will leave a lasting impression on our visitors.

Now in its fourth season, Ontimeshow’s reputation has grown to become an essential destination for buyers each fashion season. This season we have invited top buyers from across the world, including from Selfridges in London, Leclair in Paris, Opening Ceremony in New York, and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong.

In addition, the new season of Ontimeshow has received strong support from Shanghai Fashion Week and West Bund Group.

Shanghai Fashion Week

MODE

Ontimeshow is pleased to partner with MODE Shanghai to be their West Bund branch of their trade show. From April 8 to 11, MODE Shanghai Fashion Exhibition will be held at FOUND 158 on Julu Road. In the main venue, 25 showrooms will bring more than 400 brands to the exhibition this season. They will strive to improve their design layout, supporting services and other aspects in order to build a more convenient and efficient trading platform for exhibitors and channel buyers. Many brands will hold shows at Shanghai Fashion Week during the same period of the exhibition, so as to present their collections through both presentations and trade shows in a dynamic and static manner.

West Bund Group

We chose the West Bund Art Center, which is located at the core of the "West Bund Cultural Corridor" of Xuhui, for several reasons. First of all, the West Bund Art Center is very fond of the venue. The venue with a total floor area of 10,800 square meters was rebuilt from the former Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Workshop. As soon as it entered this venue, it was shocked by its large-span space, which fully meets the requirements of ONTIMESHOW for the transparency and spaciousness of space. And it retains the original industrial sense of the old factory buildings, coupled with the unique design of stairs and ramps, and coincides with ONTIMESHOW's idea of pursuing a unique design sense.

Then, it is in the West Bund of Shanghai, where the West Bund Art Center is located. It is an urban brand built on the carrier of Shanghai Xuhui Binjiang area. The brand "West Bund Cultural Corridor" has been launched since 2011. After a round of development and construction, the West Bund of Shanghai now boasts the Long Museum, Yuz Museum, Shanghai Photography and Art Center, Shangner Gallery and many other well-known cultural and artistic institutions. At the same time, under the leadership of brand activities such as West Bund Music Festival, West Bund Architecture and Contemporary Art Biennale, West Bund Art and Design Fair, the West Bund of Shanghai is becoming a gathering place for a variety of cultural, commercial and sporting activities.

Since its trial operation in May 2015, the West Bund Art Center has successfully hosted various art and design fairs. In the main exhibition hall, the annual visitor flow totals more than 100,000 people. The strong appeal and influence of the West Bund of Shanghai in the field of art and design are also valued by Ontimeshow. It is hoped that through this joint effort, we can explore resources in both fields and establish a deeper exchange of fashion and art.

ONTIMESHOW2016AW

Ontimeshow has so far been a conventional trade show - we screen and invite buyers from China and abroad, and we select and display designer brands for buyers.

But we don't want to just be an ordinary trade show. We seek to be a bridge between designers and buyers. We are building a creative platform that can connect creative talent across the whole fashion industry effectively.

So this season, in addition to the usual booth spaces for designers, we decided to add two new features: still fashion presentations and photography exhibitions.

With still presentations, buyers and the media can more intuitively see the concepts behind designers’ collections. The idea for the photography exhibitions came from discussions we had with buyers and designers. Buyers explained that good look books can contribute a lot to a brand, but many independent designers struggle to find the right resources for photographers. Therefore we chose three new photographers with different styles and experience in this field, hoping to connect them with designers so that they can collaborate.
